Casual Bakery Assistant
Purpose Support baking prep and production days, keep the kitchen spotless, and help the team create irresistible treats.
Key responsibilities
Weigh and prepare ingredients, label and store correctly
Mix, portion, tray, and finish cookies to spec after training
Wash up, sanitise, and keep prep areas clean, complete daily cleaning checks
Receive deliveries, rotate stock using FIFO, maintain accurate labels
Assist with packing orders for markets and online dispatch
Follow allergen controls, personal hygiene, and temperature logs
Essential skills and experience
Practical, organised, and attentive to detail
Able to follow recipes and SOPs accurately
Comfortable on your feet, able to lift flour, trays, boxes safely
Food hygiene awareness and willingness to train
Nice to have
Commercial kitchen experience, bakery experience, or Level 2 Food Safety
Availability
Prep days vary, often weekdays, occasional evenings in busy periods
